This mellow, tangy single origin coffee with sugar browning flavors is cultivated on the Ijen plateau in Eastern Java. The coffee is primarily grown on large estates built by the Dutch in the 18th century, among the oldest in Indonesia's storied coffee history.
Java Estate is aptly named after the picturesque, azure shaded mountain-forests found in this region of Java. Besides its expansive and lush coffee plantations, Ijen is also known for the iconic blue flames emanating from Indonesia's own Blue Mountain volcano.
